Trainer Statistics

Our comprehensive race card spreadsheet contains all the significant horse racing trainer statistics that any professional or novice gambler requires. Trainer performance is essential in evaluating your bets!

  • Trainers overall runs, win & place strike rates for 2yr, 1yr, 30 days, 14 days.
  • 2 unique trainer ratings, the first shows how good the trainer is compared to others in the race & the second is very informative in that is shows how well the trainer is doing with winners opposed to other times of the year which is significant in finding trainer patterns and backing winners.
  • Trainers days since last win & runs since last win.
  • Trainers win & place course record, significant in knowing if the trainer performs well at the respected course.
  • Trainers course impact value rating which suggests how well the trainer does compared to the other trainers in the respected race, along with a course rank.
  • The trainers P&L stats plus their return on investment (ROI) figures.
  • Trainer & jockey combination stats allowing you to see how good a pairing the jockey & trainer have together.
  • Statistics on how many times the horse has ran, won & placed for its respected trainer.
  • Ranking columns so you can quickly see which are the better and worse trainers in the race at the course, with their jockey and overall.
  • Blue & red trainer highlights which quickly help you to identify the trainers who are in hot form and those that are simply struggling to train a winner!

Cheltenham Festival trainer stats

Looking into the Cheltenham Festival trainer stats the top of the win table is topped by Paul Nicholls followed by Nicky Henderson, Willie Mullins & Jonjo O’Neill. You wouldn’t be able to make a level stakes profit from backing any of the trainers blind apart from Jonjo, albeit coming from a big priced winner which skews the stats.

Since 2003 Victor Dartnall, Nick Gifford, Brendan Powell, Andrew Turnell, Paul Webber, Nick Williams, Charlie Longsdon, Ian Williams, Charlie Swan, Tom George, Tim Vaughan,  Dermot Welds & Charlie Mann have not had a single winner between them.

From a laying point of view if you had taken on Nicholls, Hobbs & Pipe since 2008 you would have made a nice profit of £130.

The profits on Nicholls could be greater if you did not lay his hurdlers, you could delve deeper into his stats using the breakdown of data supplied in the Cheltenham Festival trainer stats excel spreadsheet.

For example in a certain race type he only has a 3% strike rate and the profits laying him in this race type are excellent!

Also you could find out the trainer to oppose in handicap hurdles at the Cheltenham festival.

Cheltenham Festival Day 2

The second day of the Cheltenham Festival was a great day for betting, especially for my clients of the horse racing ratings.

The day started with the Diamond Jubilee National Hunt Chase for Amateur Riders’, this novices’ chase looked very competitive, however we managed to find the 5/1 winner to get the day off to a good start.

The Neptune Investment Management Novices’ Hurdle was next up and one of my stronger fancies for the meeting in the shape of Simonsig was available at 3/1. He showed some true class to beat Felix Yonger by 7 lengths, landing some hefty wagers.

The RSA chase has always been one of my favourite races at the Festival and having backed Bobs Worth ante post before the Reynoldstown Novices’ Chase at Ascot I must admit to been a bit worried after Invictus out stayed him. The news that he needed the run after his wind op was a relief but I did think Invictus looked top class. Bobs Worth was top rated for the RSA chase and looked a massive price and he duly obliged at 9/2! Our laying betting system also highlighted Grands Crus for a lay at 6/5.

We then had the winner of the Champion Chase at 4/1 having been as big as 6/1, this completed a four timer for the day, which paid around 500/1

We hit a few nice top rated winners at the other meetings today, most notably Flag Of Glory whom won at 14/1 and was a notebook horse and a key stat horse, this combo is exceptional!
